Sore Throat is often a question I get at the Pharmacy Counter, and what can I do about it??
This Sore Throat can be a sign of some things to come or it can just be what it is which a red, raw sore throat.
If this is the only thing that seems to be expressing itself then the goal is to keep the throat moist and warm, the best way is to gargle with salt water in luke warm water and 1/2 teaspoonful of salt, gargle for 5 minutes every hour for 3 hours and you will feel better.
There are some good products for sore throat, chlorseptic or vicks 44 spray have phenol in it and can help numb the throat for hours, and these products are fine for pateints 10 and older. A pain killer like tylenol is also fine as well.
For Kids, the gargle is the best, the phenol products are not indicated for kids and it is best not to use them.
Flu and Sore Throat can be more than discomfort so if it persists seek medical attention, and remember that we are always around to help at the pharmacy counter.
